Heat-insulated extruded polystyrene foam with closed cell construction for new and renovated buildings ensures durable and effective protection.
Ravatherm XPS 300 SL provides excellent thermal insulation:
The inverted roof system is a proven solution for flat roofs that has been used for decades. The use of XPS has a long tradition in Europe, and samples of the material taken from the project, implemented several decades ago, have shown that XPS maintains the insulation, strength and dimensional stability properties.
RAVATHERM XPS 300 in this application is placed in layers by spreading on waterproofing without gluing and is weighted with a layer of ballast, which is usually a layer of gravel ensuring the required stability under the influence of wind and precipitation. In the case of inverted roofs due to the diffusion aspect of steam occurring in an open layer structure, it is required to use XPS insulation. For utility roofs, it is recommended to use a diffusion layer (at least 2-5 cm of gravel, crushed stone, etc.) between thermal insulation and a layer of soil, tiles, concrete slabs.
RAVATHERM XPS 300 SL boards used in structures in contact with the soil allow edges to be made without thermal bridges by eliminating gaps. Spot gluing is used (at six points per tile), or when the adhesive is PUR foam, the adhesive is applied in 3 lines.
Thermal insulation can be cut easily and precisely using hand tools. The maximum depth at which thermal insulation can be used is determined by the load: the pressure level must not exceed the strength of the XPS boards, taking into account the value that refers to the constant load.
In the case of a base of compacted stone or lean concrete, RAVATHERM XPS 300 SL boards should be laid directly on the leveled surface, which can be obtained by sanding, if necessary, additional leveling. If the thermal insulation is installed above the waterproofing layer, it also serves as protection against mechanical damage. For ordinary floors or floors with underfloor heating, thermal insulation is the perfect foundation for concrete (screed) and underfloor heating, in places where heating pipes can be attached directly to thermal insulation. It is recommended to use PE foil between the layers of thermal insulation sliding between them and the layer of concrete (screed). You should also remember to use sound insulation when building floors inside buildings.
